Thailand Map and Geography of Thailand
Thailand Map At 514,000 sq km (198,000 sq mi), Thailand is the world’s 49th-largest country. It is comparable in size to France, and somewhat larger than the US state of California. Thailand is home to several distinct geographic regions, partly corresponding to the provincial groups.

Thailand borders Malaysia to the south, Myanmar to the west, Laos to the north and Cambodia to the east. Shaped rather like an elephant's head, the north-south axis is 1600km in length making for considerable geographic diversity. The North has mountain ranges and fertile valleys populated by hill tribes and farmers while the Northeast - the least visited region of Thailand - is characterised by the dry, flat Khorat plateau.
